Welcome to the Texas Secede website!  The website’s origins began several years ago as a tongue-in-cheek exercise for like-minded Texans to celebrate their Texas heritage and show their heart-felt loyalty for their birthplace. Or in the case of “naturalized” Texans, the place they now call home.  As the saying goes, “if within the first five minutes of talking to a Texan, if you have not figured out that they are from Texas, they have already told you.”

Who could have foreseen the drastic change in our nation’s political climate such that the discussion of secession would even be mentioned in public, let alone by Our Governor on national television?  The pride Texans hold in their heart for their state is unrivaled by any in the union.
 
We have recently added a Forum for people to voice their opinions and share with others their feelings and ideas on the topics of the day.  Please feel free to e-mail any suggestions for this sounding board is for the people. With the upcoming state elections, this should be quite exciting and hopefully informative.

DISCLAIMER: Texas Secede advocates utilizing the United States Constitution’s amendment provisions to expressly include aqualified and procedural right of secession.  Such a right would allow a state to legally and constitutionally exit the union for the possible purpose of establishing a new political jurisdiction.  It does NOT advocate secession without an express constitutional procedural mechanism in place, and thus does NOT in any way advocate the unilateral secession (by force or any other violent means) of any state without first reaching a legal and constitutional agreement among the many states regarding the propriety of secession.
